I have always been one of those people that will restrict food, not truly understanding the importance of nutrition and the role it plays in health, wellness and weight loss. I have struggled to loose those few extra pounds we carry around with us. I would find exercises online to complete without getting the results I desired. This would last a short period of time before I would fall off the wagon, quit exercising and stop eating “healthy”. Liz has been a great inspiration for years in helping me better understand nutrition in more depth. She explained macro nutrition to me introduced me to how to count macros, related to muscle gain and fat loss. Not only did she guide me through my weight loss journey but, she continues to be a support to this day. From this journey, I have learned the nutritional value within foods, paying closer attention to the macro values in the foods I choose to put into my body, which has helped me to properly balance my nutrition! Liz has abundance of knowledge in health and wellness and was quick to check in, not only on my physical well-being but also on my mental well-being! Since the beginning of this journey, I can proudly say this is the longest I have maintained my weight in a range I am happy with! I use the tools everyday that Liz taught me. I was so tired of people asking me if I was pregnant, after having 3 children, I really wanted my body back. I thought I didn’t have time for better nutrition and exercise. Liz helped me find a plan that worked for me and I started to notice a difference within a week. My stomach wasn’t as bloated and I felt great. She then convinced me to join a 30 day exercise challenge along with her. It was only a short 15min workout everyday with a rest day every week. She checked in with me regularly to see how it was going so I didn’t loose focus and was able to stay on track. My children and husband would even join me occasionally to cheer me on. There were some days I wasn’t able to do the workout, but Liz was so encouraging to get back on track and keep going, that I was able to complete the full 30 days. Before I started working with Liz, I was in a mess! I was on 60 some medications, I was depressed, I was almost 300lbs and my gut health (auto immune disease) was so bad I was on the toilet 20+ times a day. I was unable to work outside of the home or have much energy to do much at home for 8yrs. I was told by a surgeon that I would need to have 5ft of my bowels removed and I would have a colostomy bag for the rest of my life. I walked out of that office and that was my turning point. I knew I needed help!

When Liz started working with me, I was depressed, down on life, and really unhealthy.  I was eating sugar-laden foods, and I was obese. 

I started incorporating the nutritional education, counselling, and healthy lifestyle changes that Liz recommended and personalized to me.  Liz educated me on the dangers of the inflammatory foods and recommended I go off of sugar, processed and fast foods, for life. She recommended I start incorporating exercise/movement into my daily routine.  She educated me on the importance of knowing what you are eating and putting in your body and encouraged me to read nutritional labels.  

She created a meal plan that was personalized to my likes and dislikes, that was a healthy balance of wholesome foods and helped me incorporate more vegetables into my diet. I embraced this healthy eating plan and was helped by Liz's very enthusiastic check-ins and correspondence, loaded with pertinent information.  Weight loss was one of my goals and in the past, I would get obsessed to weigh myself daily. Liz helped me to understand about daily fluctuations in weight according to carbohydrate intake and even water intake and that daily weigh-in was counterproductive. She encouraged me to take measurements, that this was a truer way to see true loss, but I still weighed myself weekly instead of everyday! 

Liz was very encouraging with helping me with my mindset and my positive thinking. I still have struggles, but have noticed taking out the damaging foods that this is easier to achieve.  A big part of Liz's advice was for me to get off the couch and get moving!  I used to have to take a nap every day because I just felt so tired and down. So, I work on this one, but I try to walk 4-5 times/week, sometimes my family will come with me as well.  

Liz encouraged me from the get-go and I have seen my weight melt off and my high blood pressure come down as a result of my efforts and Liz’s guidance and support. Liz was helpful in giving me many resources that would help me be successful, and easy and delicious recipes for me and my family. I really notice a lot of positive changes from incorporating ways to heal my gut that Liz recommended as well as a couple supplements to help me with my mental health and foggy brain. 

I highly endorse Garant Nutrition and am so thankful Liz approached me and offered her expertise and support. I am so close to reaching my short-term health goals, and well on my way to knowing how to reach my long-term goals, equipped with the support and education I have gained and can use for the years to come.
